Associate Vice President
Overview
Taylor Cooper is an Associate Vice President in our Large Surveys Practice with expertise in leading large-scale IT programs and managing all phases of systems design, development, and operations support. He serves as the deputy project director for IT infrastructure and physical operations for the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). NHANES collects data on the health of the U.S. population through interviews and extensive physical examinations performed in mobile centers that travel from site to site. Cooper is responsible for IT development, operations, and security, including development, operation, and support for the Integrated Survey Information System that supports all aspects of sampling, data collection, survey monitoring, and data management.
Cooper led a major update of NHANES systems to implement a private cloud infrastructure using virtualization technologies, a storage area network, secure internet access, VOIP telephony, and secure wireless networking. His team was awarded the National Center for Health Statistics Director’s Award for outstanding technical performance.
